Claim your profileHi! I’m Alexis, an audience engagement expert, communications strategist, and creative storyteller. Most recently, I worked as an Audience Development Strategist at Wirecutter. I mainly curated the brand's presence on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook — creating Reels, interactive IG Stories, Twitter Moments, and more — and I lead other projects such as Wirecutter's first SMS content marketing campaign, the Sleep Better Challenge. Before that, I was an Audience Engagement Producer at the Star Tribune, where I managed Instagram, Reddit, Facebook and Twitter. I created Star Tribune's Reddit account and built the community from the ground up, and I increased followers of the Strib's main Instagram account by 30 percent. I worked to grow reader trust in the organization by facilitating direct interaction between readers and newsroom staffers through Instagram Live sessions and Reddit AMAs. I was also the on-camera host of Tomorrow Together, an innovative YouTube series produced by the Strib to target an under-reached Gen-Z audience. Before I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, I had a founding role in a student-led startup: Our Chatham. Our Chatham was a fully digital local news source for Chatham County, NC that based its journalism solely on audience questions about local politics, development, environmental issues and more. I also helped to found the Chatham Brew, the Chatham News + Record's daily email newsletter; I designed, wrote and produced the newsletter for almost a year after its creation.
