About

I am Cesar Amaya, the founder and principal of Amaya Design, a Calgary-based residential design studio specializing in custom homes, luxury infills, boutique multi-family developments, and major renovations. My background combines residential design, real estate development, project planning, and a practical understanding of how homes are approved and built. I started Amaya Design because I saw how difficult it can be for homeowners, builders, and developers to turn an initial idea into a clear, coordinated, and buildable design. I enjoy working closely with clients to understand not only how they want their home to look, but how they want to live in it. Every project begins with the people, the property, the budget, and the long-term purpose of the home. From there, my team and I develop the floor plans, exterior design, 3D concepts, technical drawings, and permit documentation needed to move the project forward with confidence. Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of residential projects, including custom luxury homes, acreage properties, inner-city infills, semi-detached homes, fourplexes, multi-family developments, additions, and large-scale renovations. I believe good design should be beautiful, functional, site-responsive, and realistic to build. My role is to help clients make informed decisions early, reduce uncertainty, and create a home that reflects their lifestyle while meeting the practical requirements of the property and the construction process. At Amaya Design, we are not simply producing drawings. We are helping clients turn their ideas into homes that are thoughtfully planned, technically coordinated, and designed to stand the test of time.
