Director/Writer
Los Angeles, CA, USA
Dia Brown is a Los Angeles–based entertainment marketing professional and emerging television writer/director with a sharp instinct for story and audience. Over the past seven years, she has built her career inside the industry at Warner Bros., HBO Max, and ARRAY, shaping campaigns and cultural moments for global audiences. Her entry into entertainment began in front of the camera, studying and pursuing acting—an experience that continues to inform her approach to character and performance. Alongside her professional career, Dia has intentionally developed her voice as a writer through coursework in screenwriting and development at UCLA Extension and participation in employee-led writers’ groups, sharpening her ability to craft stories that are both emotionally grounded and structurally sound. Now stepping into the forefront as a writer and director, Dia creates character-driven stories that center identity, vulnerability, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. Her debut project, Mammy is a Star, is a bold, genre-blending exploration of ambition, legacy, and the complicated pursuit of visibility for Black women in entertainment. With a background that spans performance, creative development, and marketing, she brings a rare dual perspective—understanding not only how stories are told, but how they resonate, connect, and move through culture. She is currently developing original projects for television and bringing her work to life through live experiences, including an upcoming stage reading.
