I’m Mina Kim, a radio host and interviewer with KQED Radio. I’m passionate about thoughtful conversations with authors, researchers, academics, educators, artists, and people with unique experiences and perspectives to share. Through my work, I explore books, ideas, culture, education, history, science, society, the arts, and contemporary issues. I enjoy giving people the space to go beyond the surface of their work—to talk about what inspired them, what they discovered, the challenges they encountered, and why their ideas matter. I’m especially drawn to conversations that make complex subjects accessible and meaningful to a wider audience. Whether I’m speaking with an author about a new book, a researcher about their findings, an educator about new approaches to learning, an artist about their creative work, or someone with a compelling personal perspective, my goal is to have an engaging and genuine conversation that leaves listeners with something to think about. My areas of interest include: books and publishing, education, history, science, culture, society, public affairs, the arts, and interdisciplinary ideas. I’m always interested in discovering new voices, perspectives, books, and ideas that can contribute to thoughtful conversations. Interview & Spotlight Fee: A participation fee applies to selected author conversations and promotional spotlight opportunities. This fee helps cover the production, editorial, promotional, and administrative work associated with preparing and presenting the feature.
