Randi Minetor's encyclopedic knowledge of America's national parks comes from 25 years of crisscrossing the country to research her books on the parks, birds, hiking, and history. To date, she has visited 364 of the 433 units of the National Park Service, including parks in all 50 states. Working with her husband, photographer Nic Minetor, Randi's nonfiction works include nine books in the “Death in the Parks” series, about people who visit national and major state parks and become victims of fatal accidents, hubris, or sheer bad luck. Her books include two editions of "Death in Glacier National Park," and "Death in Zion National Park," "Death on Mount Washington," "Death on Katahdin," "Death in Acadia," "Death in Rocky Mountain National Park," "Death in the Everglades," and the upcoming (Nov '26) "Death in Grand Teton National Park." The Minetors have completed three comprehensive Birdfinding guides for Globe Pequot's Falcon imprint, "Birding New England," "Birding Florida," and "Birding Texas," as well as their "Best Easy Bird Guides" to Acadia National Park and Cape Cod. The Minetors have collaborated on fifteen hiking guides throughout New York State, including three editions of the bestselling "Hiking Waterfalls in New York" and two editions each of "Best Easy Days Hikes" guides to Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany. The Minetors live in Rochester, NY, where they have participated in migratory and breeding bird research projects for The Nature Conservancy and the New York State Breeding Bird Atlas. Randi served for three years as president of the Rochester Birding Association.
