Claim your profileI'm a reporter for The New York Times, where I cover the Supreme Court. Previously, I worked for The Marshall Project, the Investigative Reporting Program at the University of California, Berkeley, the Center for Investigative Reporting and the Tampa Bay Times. I'm a graduate of the UC Berkeley School of Law, and I've lectured at its Graduate School of Journalism. From 2011 to 2012, I was a Henry Luce Scholar in Cambodia, where I worked on behalf of survivors at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. I was the lead reporter on a year-long investigation into the injuries caused by police dog bites that won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in National Reporting. I was a finalist in 2019 and 2021 for Harvard’s Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting.
