I am a storyteller at heart. That's why I love being a product marketing manager. I have the unique opportunity to use market insights and competitive intel to frame the messaging and position of new and existing products for internal and external stakeholders. I'm currently at product marketing manager for a public safety company. This has given me the opportunity to be a subject matter expert on specific markets (community safety and commercial mid-market) while working for an organization that does social good. I've built out messaging guides, buyer persona research, developed sales assets including decks, one-pagers, and videos, and supported content and demand generation initiatives. Previously, I worked as a product marketing manager for an eCommerce company. In this role I serve as a subject matter expert for our products, influence the GTM strategy, and spearhead sales enablement collateral and programs. Prior to this, I worked as product marketing associate for a B2B SaaS medtech company. I specialized in telling the story of the entire product portfolio by creating marketing collateral that speaks to the voice of the customer and generates leads. I created sales enablement collateral and collaborated on the go-to-market strategy, customer insights, competitive intelligence, market research and messaging and positioning of the products. This role felt like a natural succession from my previous role as a reporter/multimedia journalist for local television stations. I'm also the author of a young adult fiction novel "Melanin's Motive." I played a pivotal role in the go-to-market strategy and content marketing for the launch of the book, getting publicity for both state and national media sites. When I have free time, I enjoy creative writing (spoken word poetry), singing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my friends and family.
