Alessandra won the US National Press Foundation's Hinrich Award for distinguished reporting on trade in 2023 for a series of stories written with a a team of Bloomberg colleagues on post-Covid transformations in world trade.She was also Rome Bureau Chief for Bloomberg News for seven years managing a team of ten TV and print journalists and providing economic, financial and political news to corporate clients, central bankers and financial institutions in 127 countries across the globe. She has been a member of the EMEA Diversty Council for her company helping to promote more inclusive news coverage in the workplace. After earning her MSc in International History at the London School of Economics, Alessandra worked for the Associated Press, where she wrote her first article as an intern in 1999, and for international media organizations Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal and Class CNBC in Milan where she anchored the morning markets show. She also worked as foreign press officer for the Italian Finance Ministry and for the Italian bond market (MTS). In 2006 she joined Bloomberg where she has held several positions including Italy correspondent for oil and energy news (2010-2013), and for banking and finance (2008-2010). Since 2011 she has been writing for Bloomberg Businessweek magazine on topics such as economics, oil, alternative energy, small biz and Italian politics. Alessandra's articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The International Herald Tribune, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Il Foglio and Milano Finanza. Alessandra is bilingual English-Italian and fluent in French. She spent her childhood and adolescence on the East Coast of the United States before moving back to Europe for college. She has lived in Paris, Tours, Geneva, London, St. Petersburg and Milan, before settling down in Rome with her husband and three children.
