Alexandra Zavis

Alexandra Zavis is a spot enterprise editor at Reuters. She has reported from more than 40 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Zavis previously served as the Reuters news editor for sub-Saharan Africa. She has also worked as a correspondent and editor for the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press, reporting from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Congo, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, among other war-torn places. She is a recipient of the American Academy of Diplomacy’s Arthur Ross Award for distinguished reporting on foreign affairs and co-edited a Reuters series on abuses by Nigeria's military that was named a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize in the International Reporting category.
