Twenty-five years ago, I learned that communications — done right — can change outcomes, not just perceptions. That belief has shaped everything I've built since. As the head of Ravenstreet Partners LLC, a Texas-based firm that specializes in communications and public affairs, I've had the chance to work with all sorts of organizations - from big corporations to small agencies in New York, Ohio, and Texas. This experience has given me a unique perspective on how companies think, communicate, and sometimes struggle to do both effectively. My work has covered a wide range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, entertainment, sports, nonprofits, consumer goods, and even high-profile personal representation. I've worked with businesses to businesses and businesses to consumers, helping them navigate complex communications challenges. But I've also been involved in handling tough situations that no one plans for - like product recalls, lawsuits, and executive or artist misconduct. In these moments, clear and credible communication is crucial, and I've learned how to provide it. Whether it's a crisis or just everyday communications, my goal is to help organizations communicate effectively and build strong relationships with their audiences. I work a lot on helping people get the healthcare they need and dealing with the government, especially in Texas. I'm in charge of a group called Texans for Obesity Treatment and Access Coalition, which tries to get more people on Medicaid to have access to good care for obesity and diabetes. This means I spend time at the Texas Legislature, talking about policies like the Rider 38 Diabetes Study and the Medicaid BALANCE model, and working with patients, doctors, lawmakers, and companies to make things happen. I also help big pharmaceutical and biotech companies like Vertex, Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Abbott figure out how to communicate with people, get stakeholders on board, and craft their policy messages. What connects everything, no matter the industry or time, is something I always come back to: the right story, told to the right people at the right time, can change things that seem impossible to change. Especially when it comes to advocating for something, this isn't just an idea - it's real life. It's a family getting the treatment they need. That's why I'm doing this.
