Annette Peagler

Born in Philadelphia, Emmy nominated anchor and reporter Annette Peagler has more than 15 years of multimedia journalism experience. Annette first joined WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio as the station’s first ever Apprentice from The E.W. Scripps Company. Through this two-year program she learned every aspect of the newsroom, from reporting to the assignment desk. She took all the skills she learned through the program and started to produce the weekend newscasts and "one-man band" various stories throughout the week. Following that two-year program, Annette became the Good Morning Tri-State Weekend Producer at WCPO-TV. She turned stories throughout the week as a one-man band, shooting, writing and editing her pieces. Annette has also worked as a Multimedia Journalist at WKEF ABC 22/WRGT FOX 45 in Dayton, Ohio and has also worked as the nightside reporter for WLBT in Jackson, Mississippi and was a fill-in anchor. Annette has also worked as the weekend anchor for WATN-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. She turned stories throughout the week for the night beat and led a staff of about 10 people for the weekend evening newscasts. Currently, Annette is an Evening Anchor for WBTW in Myrtle Beach, SC. She also produces the Fox News at 10 as needed and anchors the 5:30 p.m., 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Annette graduated Cum Laude from Hampton University with a Bachelors in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English. She is also currently enrolled at Coastal Carolina University in the MA program for Communication Leadership. Annette volunteers for the Urban League and Girls Inc. She’s also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She’s also served as the Secretary of the Memphis Association of Black Journalists. She's an AP award recipient and was recently nominated for an Emmy for her work on a feature about Stax Recording Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.
