I’m looking for insights and real-world experiences on how strict cancellation policies and long booking lead times are impacting travel in 2026, particularly for international trips, cruises, wildlife safaris, and packaged tours. Many of these travel products require booking months in advance and come with limited flexibility, strict refund rules, or high cancellation fees. I’m seeking 100–200 word responses from: TRAVELERS: Have you been forced to cancel, postpone, or reschedule a trip in the past 12–24 months? What happened and why? How did the cancellation policy affect your refund, rebooking options, or overall experience? Did you use travel insurance, and was it helpful? TRAVEL PROFESSIONALS (agents, tour operators, cruise/safari organizers, travel advisors): Why are booking windows getting longer for many trips? How have cancellation policies changed in recent years? What factors are driving stricter terms, and how do you advise clients to manage risk and flexibility when booking? I’m especially interested in real 2026 experiences, quotes, and short case examples. Please include your name, Company, role (or traveler), and location in your response.
