Managing Editor
Publications:
Austin is a writer, editor, and editorial team manager with a decade of digital marketing experience. After earning a BA in creative writing from UMKC, he built a career in researching, copywriting, and copyediting, helping brands turn scattered information into clear, engaging narratives built for humans. As Managing Editor at NP Digital US, Austin has led editorial teams of up to 12 internal writers and dozens of contractors. He’s set quality standards across large content programs, and built internal systems and educational resources that keep editorial work moving. He's a sharp researcher who knows how to turn a vague brief into a piece of storytelling that hooks and delights readers. And he knows how to teach this process to junior writers. For the past three years, he has worked intimately with AI and LLMs. He’s learned where LLMs can help in the content production process, where they fall short, and how to use them as a collaborator without sacrificing tone, voice, and accuracy. That work has produced several SOPs and best-practice guides for internal teams at NP Digital, training sessions on responsible use, and ongoing coursework to keep up with evolving tools. Over the past year, Austin has also focused on Wikipedia and how it operates for company pages, including drafting and submitting new articles, submitting edit requests to live ones within community guidelines, and building the SOPs and presentations that define how NP Digital handles the Wikipedia deliverable. Outside of work, Austin is a fly angler drawn to saltwater, and he ties his own flies. He shares his life with his wife and two Australian Shepherds, and spends his free time fishing, traveling, camping, hiking, writing poetry, and chasing a good espresso.
