For an article for www.breastcancer.org, I’m interested in speaking with physicians who treat breast cancer patients about the pros and cons of immediate online access to imaging and other diagnostic-related lab results, potentially before the physician has a chance to review and discuss them. A few states, including Kentucky and Texas, have provided the option of a 72-hour delay so the physician can consult with the patient first. What do physicians think about that alternative approach?
