I'm an editor, manager and journalist with 17 years of experience in the news industry. I am currently Assistant Editor at Mirror Online, managing the homepage, optimising content and driving the news agenda for one of Britain's most trusted media brands. I previously had a leading role on the internal news wire at Reach Plc, the UK's largest commercial news publisher. This involved working with editors and journalists at the Mirror, Express and Star as well as the company's regional titles, such as the MEN and Liverpool Echo, to ensure high-impact content our staff creates is used widely and effectively. I have worked on major news stories both as a journalist and editor, including managing the coverage of nationally significant court cases.I have a proven track record of leading and working on editorial teams both nationally and regionally which exceed digital page view targets. I was Editor of Northants Live during a period when its monthly page views trebled, and Acting Editor of Derbyshire Live when the title's content was attracting 16 million page views a month. I also ran a team of journalists producing regional stories for Express Online. I'm an expert social media editor, with significant experience of training staff to create engaging content.I was previously a politics editor, nominated for several awards.
