I'm a professional with more than 15 years of writing and editing experience. Currently, I work as the editor of a community newspaper in Jefferson Park. Prior to becoming the editor of the newspaper, I covered a variety of beats, from state and local politics, community development, zoning issues, breaking news, police blotter, schools, board meetings, human interest stories, speeches and pretty much anything that was deemed newsworthy.I took photographs from crime scenes, fires and traffic accidents, to story-specific photos needed to help residents understand what is going on in their community. Sometimes a photo is worth a thousand words. Sometimes it's a picture of a building.Journalism is more than a choice, but rather a calling. All the people that I have ever worked with in this business always had that one "thing" that made them have ink in their blood and a snout for what stinks.
