Claim your profileI’m David Adler—media entrepreneur, editorial provocateur, and lifelong student of human connection. As the editor of GatheringPoint.news, I’m curating the essential briefing for innovative event organizers, experience designers, and collaboration artists. This newsletter isn’t just about events—it’s about the future of gathering and how convenings shape culture, business, and influence. Previously, I founded BizBash, the go-to media brand for the event industry that grew into a platform of community, commerce, and content. Now celebrating 25 years, BizBash transformed how planners, marketers, and brands connect through events. After its acquisition by Tarsus and then INFORMA, the brand continues to thrive under new leadership. My editorial roots go even deeper: I created Washington Dossier Magazine, Washington D.C.’s legendary society publication that chronicled “soft power” long before the term entered the zeitgeist. With its upcoming 50th anniversary, I’m preserving and reactivating its legacy through a 100,000-photo archive and storytelling projects. I’m also the author of Harnessing Serendipity, a playbook for collaboration in a world increasingly defined by engineered connections and curated collisions. Throughout my career, I’ve held executive roles at Maxwell Communications, Macmillan, Cone Communications, and PRIMEDIA (KKR), where I led campaigns for The JFK Library, Avon’s Breast Cancer Crusade, and the Reebok Human Rights Awards. In every role, my mission has been consistent: elevate meaningful experiences and ignite purposeful gatherings. Today, I also help steward the Adler Entertainment Trust, managing the literary estate of my father, Warren Adler (The War of the Roses), and bringing his iconic works to new audiences in film, television, and stage. Having spent 35 years in New York, I’m now back in Washington D.C.—still chasing the next great conversation.
