Claim your profileI’m a journalist, writer, and editor with 15+ years of experience leading editorial projects and communications for publications, universities, and mission-driven organizations. I was part of the founding team behind Ensia, an independent storytelling platform at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment. I helped build it from the ground up into a nationally recognized publication focused on environmental solutions—conceptualizing, assigning, and editing award-winning stories; managing editorial workflows; and leading audience engagement efforts, all while handling the day-to-day realities of running a high-quality media outlet. I was invited to join the Ensia team after helping revamp the editorial direction of a regional magazine, where I worked to make coverage more relevant, responsive, and rooted in community concerns. Throughout my career, I’ve been trusted to help launch or reshape editorial platforms and strategies with audiences and impact in mind. Alongside journalism, I’ve worked across traditional communications roles: writing institutional blog posts, interviewing researchers and thought leaders, managing newsletters and social media, and translating complex ideas for broader audiences. I collaborate easily with nonprofit leaders, academics, designers, and subject-matter experts to get to the heart of what needs to be said. Whether as part of an editorial team, a communications group, or in a consulting role, I help shape thoughtful, accurate, and engaging stories that connect.
