Claim your profileI am the retired editor and former owner of the Illinois Business Journal, a business-to-business monthly newspaper and companion website, ibjonline.com. The publication offers news and advertising connecting readers and businesses in and around Southwestern Illinois. *** From 1979 until my retirement in August 2022, I was a newspaper editor and reporter in the Metro East area of Illinois. From 2001 until 2013, I was city editor at The Telegraph, the daily newspaper in Alton, Ill. I led a team of reporters, photographers and freelancers in our production of the "daily miracle," a loving appellation for one of the most difficult challenges around -- publishing a paper 365 days a year. As manager of the newsroom staff, I took great pride in the honors we won. In 2013, I received the Bob Hardy Award for excellence in media, reflective of career achievements. Beginning in 2013, I became editor and eventually partner of the Illinois Business Journal, which I sold in 2019, remaining as editor until my retirement.
