Claim your profileI am an award-winning journalist and editorial leader, specializing in personal finance, financial wellness; and women, career, and money issues. Over the course of my career, I've worked at major media brands such as Newsweek and Time Inc. as well as start-ups, and covered virtually every content area, from politics, international affairs and the economy to technology, health, culture and entertainment. Currently, I am deputy editor of Kiplinger, the personal finance magazine. Before joining Kips, I was a regular contributor to The New York Times, TIME magazine and AARP, among other publications and a media consultant focused on content strategy and execution for business and thought leaders. In my most recent staff position, I was the Deputy Editor of Newsweek, where I ran the magazine and was part of the senior management team charged with reinventing the iconic legacy media brand for the digital age. Before joining Newsweek, I spent the bulk of my career at Time Inc.’s Money Magazine, where I was the first woman editor-in-chief and a founding editor of the brand's website, Money.com. As EIC, I led the transformation of Money to a digital-first enterprise, sharply boosting traffic and engagement, while launching new franchises and partnerships to expand the brand, attract new audiences and drive revenue. In more than two decades at Money, I covered every aspect of personal finance and shepherded more than a dozen award-winning features and series. My specialties: * For the brands I’ve managed, I’ve been an entrepreneurial leader who has dramatically increased traffic and engagement, while creating unique editorial initiatives to serve readers, drive revenue and support business goals. * For readers, I make complicated, sometimes stressful subjects understandable and provide smart, practical advice—plus, give them great reads. * For the people I manage, I have been both boss and mentor, someone who clearly articulates the mission, sets high standards, inspires staffers to do their best work, and helps create conditions that make great work possible.
