Specializing in breaking news, severe weather, human interest and investigative reporting. He has interviewed international newsmakers, including the Dalai Lama and President Barack Obama. Gene has covered significant stories in Southern California, including the LA Lakers' memorial for Kobe Bryant and Emmy-winning coverage of "Stop AAPI Hate." His multi-platform approach to storytelling includes TV, radio, streaming and social media, with a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the community. He is dedicated to supporting non-profits, including SGI-USA, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). He has served as VP of Programming for AAJA-LA and is currently on the advisory board. A proud member of SAG-AFTRA, with a belief in "compassion through action" and mentoring youth to help them excel. Living so close to Hollywood, he has co-starred as a "TV reporter/anchor" in various TV sitcoms and films. Gene is a proud Korean-American and part of the LGBTQIA+ community. He lives in Southern California with his husband and best friend of more than 25 years.
