I programme edit and news edit, setting the direction of the day's output and working with reporters, presenters, and the technical team to output the best possible 6pm programme. I manage a team of production journalists, guiding their development, and help with the smooth running of the newsroom, thinking about our longer term objectives and strategy. I regularly interview and recruit PJs. I've been on attachment as a full time Programme Editor/Deputy Head of News at both ITV Central and ITV Tyne Tees and I was previously the digital lead at ITV Central. In 2023 I was responsible for the successful running of The People's Projects - a company-wide collaboration with the National Lottery Community Fund. I oversaw the legal, compliance and workflow aspects of donating millions of pounds to local good causes.
