Co-founder and senior researcher for Imagining the Digital Future, a massive research project revealing people's expectations for the future of communications networks. Also director of the Imagining the Internet Center and lead author of the "Future of the Internet" surveys and book series. Digital futures consultant and researcher and full professor of emerging media and digital journalism at Elon University. Previously worked as a contract researcher for the Pew Research Center's Internet Project from 2003 through 2023. Global IGF participant throughout early 2000s. Author of CHOICE Award-winning books, including "Imagining the Internet," a look at the predictions being made in the early 1990s about the future of the Internet.
