Claim your profileMy passion is communicating about weather and climate, which I've done professionally for 25 years. I pioneered one of the first interactive online weather experiences when I built CapitalWeather.com in 2003 which became part of The Washington Post in 2008, and incepted as the Capital Weather Gang. I am currently the Capital Weather Gang's Chief Meteorologist, leading The Post's local weather coverage. This follows a 14-year run as The Post's weather editor, in which I also steered The Post's national and international coverage. I am the only meteorologist to hold certifications in digital meteorology from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Before my work at The Post, I spent a decade as a climate scientist at the U.S. EPA where I was the one of the main authors on the report supporting EPA's landmark endangerment finding for greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act and also the lead on EPA's first report on climate change indicators.
