I'm writing a series for Une Case en Plus, a French lifestyle/product-review blog, about how independent, non-press content creators are (or aren't) organizing to have a voice in the AI Overview / AI search debate. Press publishers have unions, legal representation, and negotiated agreements with Google (like France's "droits voisins" framework). Independent bloggers, solo creators, and small non-press publishers have none of that, no collective body currently represents this group in any negotiation, regulatory filing, or lawsuit I'm aware of. I'm specifically looking for: - Any existing alliances, coalitions, associations, Discord/Slack groups, or informal networks of independent bloggers/creators organizing around AI Overview / AI search impact (traffic loss, revenue loss, lack of compensation, opt-out rights, etc.) - People currently trying to START such an initiative, even informally, who'd be willing to share what they're building and why - Concrete proposals for how independent creators could gain collective standing, legal, political, or purely organizational (e.g., a syndicate, a class action, a lobbying group, a public registry of impacted sites) - Precedents from other industries where solo/independent workers successfully organized collectively despite having no formal employer-employee relationship (freelancer unions, gig worker collectives, etc.) that could offer a model This is for a French-language series; responses in English are welcome, I will translate with proper attribution (name, title/site, and site URL as you'd like it credited).

•Une Case En Plus
I'm writing a series for on my website, about the real-world impact of Google's AI Overviews on small and mid-size independent publishers and solo content creators. I'm looking for sources who can share precise, first-party numbers, not general impressions. Specifically: - % change in organic search clicks/traffic (before vs. after AI Overviews appeared in your search results or your market) - % change in revenue (ad revenue, affiliate commissions, subscriptions, whichever applies to you) - % change in click-through rate (CTR), ideally with a specific example (e.g., "I ranked #1 on [topic] and my CTR dropped from X% to Y%") - The exact date range or period you're comparing - Your site's general niche/topic (no need to disclose exact traffic volume or revenue in dollars if you'd rather keep that private percentages are what I need) I'm also very interested in hearing from anyone with concrete proposals or ideas for how independent creators could actually get a seat at the table in the public and legal debate around this issue, a debate currently limited to large press groups and big media companies, with no real path in for solo/independent publishers. Best fits: - Independent bloggers, solo publishers, or small content sites (not large media companies with PR teams. I'm specifically looking for the small/independent perspective) - Sites monetized through affiliate marketing, display ads, or a mix - Any market where AI Overviews or similar AI-generated search summaries have already launched (US, UK, or elsewhere) - Legal/policy experts, advocates, or fellow independent creators with concrete ideas on collective action, representation, or advocacy for solo publishers Responses in English are perfectly fine, this is for a French-language series and I'll translate accordingly with proper attribution (name, title/site, and site URL as you'd like it credited).
