Claim your profileA 40-year news professional who has reported from more than 70 countries and led the global news gathering of The Associated Press, I am now the AP's Vice President and Editor at Large for Standards, working with journalists and editors around the world to ensure the highest levels of media ethics and fairness. My expertise includes news management, international affairs, press freedom, journalism ethics, conflict reporting, mentorship and journalist safety. I serve as president of the Overseas Press Club Foundation, which assists in mentoring the next generation of international correspondents, and I am a member of the Advisory Committee of A Culture of Safety (ACOS) Alliance. I also chair of the North American Committee of the International Press Institute (IPI), and serve on the advisory board of the Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting at Stony Brook University. I am a graduate of the Sulzberger Media Leadership Program at Columbia University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
