Claim your profileI started writing and editing professionally as print media began its decline (and social media its rise). Tough love at my national media company — aka adapt or leave — shifted my focus from print to digital, from food and drink exclusively to adding real estate, lifestyle, business, video and breaking news (yikes!). When I left journalism in late December 2020, I turned to freelance writing, editing and media strategy. June 2021 found me back in media (and back as a food and drink editor) when I was recruited to revive the food and drink coverage of a community publishing group with outlets in California and Nevada. Today, I've gone hybrid, working my media day job while continuing with freelance gigs. Digital media saturates, but no technology can overcome content that is flabby, shambling, unsure. Good writing clarifies, engages. That is what I provide. What else? I'm a native of Honolulu (and a proud native Hawaiian), a former creator of crosswords, and if I were allowed to, I would live on dumplings and saimin.
