Jonelle Awomoyi both produces and presents leading programmes across the world’s most trusted news outlet – BBC News.Currently, she works to serve underserved audiences – dismantling complex news topics into comprehensible short form video published across BBC News online and socials. She also anchors on television for BBC Three’s flagship news bulletin ‘The Catch Up’ tackling some of the most pressing issues of our time.At just 20 years old, she conducted her first investigation into fraudulent activity on social media which led to software changes on social media apps to protect consumers. More recently her investigations have shone a light on government promises that have gone unfulfilled.Prior to working at BBC News, Jonelle worked with the Premier League, The Economist, HuffPost, The Mirror, Channel 5 News and the Evening Standard.She has spoken at events in the Houses of Parliament, Microsoft HQ, St James’ Palace and the United Nations HQ in New York whilst helping raise an astonishing £107,000 in one night for youth services across the UK.In 2020 Jonelle was recognized for her contribution to her community during the pandemic with a mural in London and was nominated for the Woman of the Year Award 2021.
