Claim your profileI grew up in rural Oklahoma where my family owns and operates a cow-calf operation in the small town of Red Rock. Rodeo was a family affair and like many my love of horses began at an early age. Growing up I competed in junior, high school, college and amateur rodeo competing in barrel racing, pole bending, team roping and breakaway roping. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications with a double major in animal science, I began pursuing my career in journalism. I joined the Barrel Horse News team in 2014 and truly found a home there. Currently, I am the Editor-in-chief for Barrel Horse News where I am responsible for the day-to-day operations, tone, style, monthly stories and articles, photography, editing and digital content for the monthly publication. Recently, I also joined the team of our sister publication Western Horseman as the managing editor, where I am responsible for monthly columns, the rodeo department, feature stories, photography and more.
