About

Karen is a wordsmith—writer, poet, editor, fact checker—at The Nation, the Poetry Foundation, Narratively, USAFacts, The Appeal, Poets & Writers Magazine, The Week, NME, Rolling Stone, and the Columbia Poetry Society. She has also worked on three books as an editor and fact checker. An alumna of King’s College London and Columbia University’s journalism school, she earned First Class Honours before she was trained extensively across journalistic forms and beats. Beyond the realm of magazines and words, she is a singer and street photographer, with additional experience in musical theatre, styling, and public speaking as well as documentary and short film production.
