Claim your profileI am a Hong Kong-born, US-educated, trilingual journalist with nearly 7 years of experience covering world news. Most of my reporting has focused on human rights and international security, specifically on how China's rise has affected ordinary people, institutions, and geopolitics. I am currently a breaking news reporter at Semafor, where I cover topics ranging from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to tensions between the US and China. Before my current role, I worked at The Washington Post's international desk, where I helped spearhead the paper's coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I also reported extensively on the impact of climate catastrophes on communities around the world. I received my master's at Columbia Journalism School in 2022, where I was a Toni Stabile fellow for investigative reporting. I graduated with honors for my work in covering the Global South. Over the years, my writing has also been published in The Atlantic, CNN.com, The Telegraph, The South China Morning Post, Asia Times, Monocle, and Courier Magazine.
