I formerly worked at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., where I covered everything from county government to business to crime in Madison and Rankin counties. I also contributed to investigative reporter Jerry Mitchell's award-winning series Hard Look at Hard Time, which looked at the state of Mississippi's prisons. Shortly after, I also contributed to coverage of former Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps' indictment on federal corruption charges in late 2014, which earned a Best of The Clarion-Ledger award for watchdog and investigative journalism.
