Claim your profileI'm an award-winning investigative business journalist and feature writer. As a senior writer at Fortune, I focus on features and analysis about finance, healthcare, gender, and the intersection of policy and business. My work has won multiple honors from SABEW, the Society of Professional Journalists, and others. Prior to joining Fortune, I covered tech, finance, and the startup world as a senior editor and feature writer for Inc. Magazine, where I also oversaw the magazine's Money coverage and its annual Female Founders 100 list. My first book, Startup Money Made Easy, was published by Harper Collins in 2019. I also write the independent Lady Business newsletter, about women in the business world. I covered finance and banking during the financial crisis and its aftermath, as a reporter at Reuters and national editor at the American Banker newspaper, and I've covered technology and media for The New York Times. My writing has also appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Village Voice, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, and elsewhere.
