Melanie was part of the breaking news coverage of the underground bombing at Port Authority and also helped to cover the Halloween terror attack at a bike path in Tribeca. On an average day, her show focuses on stories important to people in the Tri-State area, including weather, commuting concerns, governmental affairs, and national headlines. Before working at WNYW, Melanie worked at WVIT-TV in West Hartford, CT. There, she helped to cover a number of national stories, including the arrest and sentencing of former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez. She was also part of the Peabody-award winning coverage of the tragedy at Sandy Hook. Melanie got her start at Syracuse University, where she helped to produce an hour-long show featuring long-form storytelling. She also contributed stories to the campus television station, Citrus TV.
