Melanie Diaz is a news producer for WNYW-TV FOX 5 News in New York, New York. Melanie has been producing for Good Day New York since 2016. Melanie was part of the breaking news coverage of the underground bombing at Port Authority and also helped to cover the Halloween terror attack at a bike path in Tribeca. On an average day, her show focuses on stories important to people in the Tri-State area, including weather, commuting concerns, governmental affairs, and national headlines. Before working at WNYW, Melanie worked at WVIT-TV in West Hartford, CT. There, she helped to cover a number of national stories, including the arrest and sentencing of former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez. She was also part of the Peabody-award winning coverage of the tragedy at Sandy Hook. Melanie got her start at Syracuse University, where she helped to produce an hour-long show featuring long-form storytelling. She also contributed stories to the campus television station, Citrus TV.
