I'm a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Senior Editor at InsideClimate News and the author of Megafire: The Race to Extinguish a Deadly Epidemic of Flame, which won the Colorado Book Award for General Nonfiction and was named one of the top 20 nonfiction books of the year by Amazon. I'm also the author of High Crimes: The Fate of Everest in an Age of Greed and the former Deputy Director of the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado. Prior to writing my books I worked as a newspaper photographer, writer and editor for 25 years. My reporting, photography and multimedia focus on global environmental, social, mountain, marine and wilderness issues.
