I am the politics editor at the Washington Post. Previously, I was the deputy D.C. bureau chief at the Los Angeles Times. I was Politics Editor at The Atlantic, where I led a large team of reporters and editors during the 2020 election cycle and the leadup to the 2022 midterm elections. Before that, I spent 5 years at HuffPost and 8 years at Mother Jones. I've also written for the Washington Monthly, Slate and the Economist.
