Claim your profileWith almost 10 years of experience as a broadcast meteorologist, I’m highly passionate about communicating weather and information in a way that the public understands. Breaking down complex weather and science topics for viewers is my specialty. Communicating severe weather with a sense of urgency so that the public trusts me and knows when to take action is why I do what I do. We have to be able to get people to act when seconds count - while still maintaining a reassuring voice that they will be okay. However, as the industry changes - we have to adapt and innovate. We must create new ways to present ideas and topics to the public, on all platforms. I've tried to enhance our weather telling abilities by continuing to add new data and technology to our system. In addition to my work forecasting, I play a large role in gathering aerial video footage. I’ve been a drone pilot for 8 years, and spearheaded the program at my last station. Now, I capture drone footage and operate the camera in the helicopter for my own stories or for breaking news. In addition, I also hold a private pilots license with a single engine land rating.
