I have been with The Early Bird since 1993, first as a staff writer and in 1997 became Managing Editor. I am responsible for managing a small staff and assisting in covering events in the community, as well as keeping our website, www.bluebagmedia.com up-to-date. Although we are a weekly newspaper, our website helps us meet the informational needs of the community on a daily basis.My goal is to see the website and paper become one of the leading community newspapers and websites in the country.One of my proudest accomplishments is finally writing a column. It took me 18 years to start it, but I thoroughly enjoy writing my Ryan's World column. The column began as a way to let my kids know the stories of my life, but has morphed into sharing stories about how I manage in a house full of girls. I have a beautiful wife and two, sometimes frustrating but always outstanding, daughters.Prior to working at The Early Bird, I spent four years in the U.S. Air Force and a couple of years working in radio.
