Claim your profileI am a writer, seasoned journalist and former reporter and columnist with 30 years of delivering impactful journalism, fueled by my lifelong passion for storytelling and amplifying diverse voices. I currently serve as president of the National Association of Black Journalists-Milwaukee, which has the stated purpose of advocating for and providing quality programming for Black journalists and communicationsn Milwaukee and throughout the region. I am also the former managing editor of the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service and a former reporter and business columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In addition to news, I served as a journalism/communication lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for many years, where I also held an executive leadership role. In addition, I instructed Marquette University's Urban Journalism Workshop, an intensive, summer boot-camp in digital journalism for high school students. Key skills and core competencies include: writing, editing, research, digital storytelling, content management, solutions journalism, newsroom training and coaching, media relations and project management.
