I'm looking to chat with a media analyst who can speak to the phenomenon of stars who have made a career in reality TV competitions, pegged to the Emmy season campaigns for Survivor and The Traitors. I'm thinking of folks who started on competitions like Survivor, Big Brother, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, The Challenge etc, and have since appeared on The Traitors (or House of Villains, which is not exactly an Emmy contender but still a fun show). I'm particularly interested in the career boosts that stars get from appearing on these shows, and how even getting voted off early can affect their star power. Ultimately, what is the benefit of appearing as a competitor when a prize pot is not guaranteed? It would be also great to get a sense of how much money a reality TV star can make on side hustles because of their on-camera stature.
