Claim your profileHi! I’m the Water Reporter at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, covering all things water and the environment. In the country's driest state with the two fastest-warming cities, this coverage is paramount as the West reconciles with an ongoing, intensifying water and climate crisis. At the University of Florida, my environmental stories for NPR-affiliate WUFT and work as editor-in-chief of The Independent Florida Alligator was recognized by the Online News Association, the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Hearst Journalism Awards, the Society for Professional Journalists and the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association. This included a first-place finish in the Hearst Journalism Awards’ explanatory reporting category for an environmental justice story about waste from phosphate mining and fertilizer production.Throughout my time as a student journalist, I completed internships on the Miami Herald's climate change desk, The Daily Beast's breaking news desk, the Gainesville Sun and the Miami New Times, an alt-weekly. This led me to cover big stories—both on the environment beat and elsewhere—such as the Surfside building collapse, record ocean temperatures in summer 2023 and more.
