Alex integrates skills honed from years of reporting where his research and writing for large and small publications earned awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. Alex covered complex copyright litigation, recession-busting business models, and the formation and regulation of limited liability companies featured in business journals, international press organizations, cable news, and the BBC. Alex earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., cum laude) where he competed on the Mock Trial Team and was awarded for his pro bono representation of clients before the Wisconsin Labor and Industry Review Commission. Alex also visited on consortium at The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law for his third year of law school where he was an editor of the Ohio State Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal. While in law school, Alex served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and he worked as a law clerk for a mid-sized Wisconsin business litigation firm and for the City of Upper Arlington. His writing skills were honed in the trenches of business, employment and insurance litigation, scrapping for clients before federal, state and administrative courts. That became a springboard into his career as a legal reporter covering litigation, legislation and regulation in the Midwest, while continuing to provide legal services.
