I'm a full-time freelance journalist, editor, writer-for-hire, and the first person to ever use the words "tricoteuse" and "canslaw" in the New York Times. I have a background in content creation and content marketing, digital and social marketing, film production, and audience engagement. As a journalist, my features on social justice and the arts, millennial occupations, apocalyptic anxiety, and history repeating itself have been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Believer, The Nation, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, Smithsonian Magazine, and others, and featured in LONGREADS' Editor's Picks and in The Sunday Long Read, the NEW YORK TIMES Weekender, and the GUARDIAN Cities 10 Most-Read Stories of the Year. I'm an associate producer on Alex Winter's 'Zappa Movie' documentary and a co-producer of restoration on the premier digital release of Alex Rockwell's 1992 Sundance Winner "In the Soup" (Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Beals). As an expert in building and engaging digital communities, I've participated in panels and led workshops and discussions on the future of film distribution, crowdfunding, and audience building for the Hot Docs Doc Ignite labs, the Sloan Foundation Film Summit, the Geena Davis Institute, the Tribeca Film Festival, the IFP's Art of Film Finance Day, and many festivals.
