Claim your profileI currently cover transportation news for CNN. When I started in November 2024, I covered high impact stories like the multiple stowaways on US flights and the Jeju Air plane crash. In January 2025, I covered the midair collision between an Army helicopter and regional airline jet for weeks. My day to day involves following the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, National Transportation Safety Board and all related agencies.I’ve previously covered aviation for The Dallas Morning News, with a focus on American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field. Before that, I covered general assignment business news, with a focus on sports business, diversity and some transportation topics.I've been a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists since I graduated college. I speak conversational Spanish and am Peruvian.I interned for the business news team at The Dallas Morning News covering business and the economy for summer 2021. After my time in Dallas, I interned for the COVID-19 and breaking news teams at The Oregonian/Oregon Live in Portland, Oregon.I was also a former intern at the Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the summer of 2020, where I covered COVID-19, business and breaking news.In Spring 2021, I graduated from the University of Iowa with BA in Journalism and Mass Communications & BA in Political Science and a minor in Criminology, Law and Justice.
