Claim your profileI am a collaborative investigative reporter for InvestigateWest with an emphasis on Washington's vast and undercovered criminal justice system. My position is supported by the Murrow News Fellowship, an initiative of Washington State University that aims to bolster coverage of civic issues in underserved communities around the state. I started my journalism career covering Colorado’s state legislature and other general assignments for The Colorado Sun, a statewide nonprofit newsroom. I’ve won regional awards in feature writing, beat reporting and public service journalism for my coverage of Colorado’s criminal justice system, the affordable housing crisis and environmental issues. I’m a big fan of investigative and government accountability reporting, digging through public records and writing poetry no one will ever read. I have a degree in biology and ecology from the University of Maine (ask me about bugs!) and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. I grew up in New Hampshire and feel most at home in the woods.
