Claim your profileI'm passionate about transforming how stories are told and shared—on air, online, and on stage. Im a journalist, critic, and performing arts curator. My work reaches wide, diverse audiences, and I create high-impact content across text, audio, video, digital, and live formats. I'm the first journalist to simultaneously serve as a correspondent at NPR and as a music critic at The New York Times. As a former Grammy Awards judge, I bring deep curatorial insight to all aspects of cultural coverage and storytelling. As a culture journalist, I specialize in long-form narratives, breaking news, and podcasting. As a former curator and producer of NPR's immensely popular Tiny Desk concert series, I know how to curate joy-inspiring arts programming that reaches wide audiences of many age groups and demogrphaics. Through my work during the year I spent as a Knight-Wallace Arts Journalism Fellow at the University of Michigan, I've expanded my academic work as a lecturer who knows how to connect with, teach, and mentor students. I also have deep experience in the recording industry, including having held positions at Sony Music Entertainment, where I was the founding editor of an innovative digital platform focused on classical music, and at BMG. As a liner notes writer and archival producer, I was a longtime voting member and jurist for the Grammy Awards.
