Worked with the News Agency of Nigeria (1983 -1998). Preparing reports from correspondents for transmission through the wire service. Joined South South Express ( a regional newspaper in the Niger Delta) in 2001 as staff writer heading the political desk. In 2002 joined Businessday as correspondent covering Akwa Ibom and Cross River States focusing on issues of governance, health, oil and gas and rural development, poverty alleviation and water resources. In 2007 received a grant from FAIR to investigate fake drugs in Nigeria, a report that was presented at an international conference on investigative reporting in Johannesburg. In 2012, took part in transnational investigation on cocoa trade in West Africa involving cocoa producing countries of the region. Presently with Businessday as Akwa Ibom bureau chief.
