Claim your profileI'm a reporter based in Detroit with experience in analytical, watchdog and business reporting. When I'm not doing journalism, I'm wandering with my dog, thinking about fiction storytelling, eating/cooking, or playing in my LGBTQ+ sports league. Before I joined Axios to help found its Detroit newsletter, I worked for Crain's Detroit Business for five years. I learned the crucial fundamentals that business reporting teaches you. I covered government, cannabis, restaurants and anything in between. I came back to the metro Detroit region (where I'm from) after living in Hanoi for nearly two years. I worked for the state-run newspaper Viet Nam News as a Princeton in Asia journalism fellow. I graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2014 with a BS in Journalism and a BA in International Studies. I'm interested in investigative journalism, focusing on on-the-ground, highly informed local reporting. I specialize in business and municipal governance. I also have experience in political reporting, breaking news, blogging, magazine writing, editing and records analysis. I have a basic understanding of video and audio production.
