Claim your profileArielle Breen is the assistant editor of the Manistee News Advocate in the northwest of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Breen has won a list of Michigan Press Association awards in categories like investigative enterprise reporting, as well as other journalistic awards such as the Inland Press Association Newsroom Contest award for creative use of multimedia to show contextual coverage of Great Lakes drownings, and was a top-20 winner of the Hearst Radio Competition's collegiate category. Breen focuses on community journalism and is especially drawn to deeper enterprises and seeking information from public data and bringing little known facts to local readers in ways they can use. Breen previously was editor of the Gaylord Herald Times, a reporter for the Gaylord Herald Times, worked as a reporter in Mount Pleasant Michigan for WCMU Public Radio news, as a staff writer for Central Michigan Life, and a staff writer for The Laker Current.
