Claim your profileAvery is an award-winning investigative journalist and storyteller working in Texas' capital city. She covers courts, the criminal justice system and issues facing vulnerable Texans, such as foster children and older people living in long-term care. Avery comes to Austin from West Texas, where she worked her way up from reporter to the main morning anchor spot on Good Morning Lubbock, in just a year. There, she solo-anchored a two-hour morning show, in addition to producing and anchoring the midday show for the ABC affiliate in the market. She's a proud University of Texas Longhorn, who got her start in the news industry as investigative intern at KXAN News, while in college. It's a privilege for Avery to return to the newsroom where it all began, telling your stories, daily, in Central Texas.
